Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition

דָּחַק to thrust, to push, as is done in a great crowd, Joel 2:8 (Arabic دحق to repel, to drive away, دحيق cast aside, whence the quadriliteral دحقب to push from behind, compounded of دحق and عقب. Aram. ܕܚܰܩ דְּחק i.q. Heb. With this accords the Gr. διώκω). Part. דֹּחֵק an oppressor (of a people). Judges 2:18.
