גְּשׁוּר (“bridge,” Arab. جِسْرُ, Syriac ܓܺܝܫܳܪܐܳ), pr.n. Geshur, a region of Syria, subject to king Tolmai, whose daughter David took to wife, 2 Samuel 3:3, 13:37 15:8. From the words 1 Chronicles 2:23, it may be gathered that Geshur is to be sought in the neighbourhood of Gilead, and that the Geshurites are not different from the גְּשׁוּרִים, mentioned immediately under גְּשׁוּרִי.
