2 definite time, = year (as modern Greek χρόνος, see EASophocles1173): ׳שִׁבְעָה ע = seven years, Daniel 4:13; Daniel 4:20; Daniel 4:22; Daniel 4:29; עִדָּן וְעִדָּנִין וּפְלַג עִדָּן Daniel 7:25 (i.e. 3 2-Janyears, see Dr; perhaps read dual for plural, compare Bev Gunk Schöpf. 201).
עִדָּן m. Chald.
(1) time; Syriac ܥܶܕܳܢ, Arabic عَدَّانُ id.; from the root עָדַד Daniel 2:8, seq.; 3:5, 15 7:12.
(2). specially a year, Daniel 4:13, 20, 22, 29 7:25, עַד־עִדָּן וְעִדָּנִין וּפְּלַג עִדָּן “during a year, (two) years, and the half of a year;” i.e. during three years and a half; comp. Josephus, Bellum Jud. i. 1. See מוֹעֵד No. 2, and יָמִים No. 4.
