Thayer's Expanded Definition

ἀπελεγμός, ἀπελεγμου, (ἀπελέγχω to convict, expose, refute; ἐλεγμός conviction, refutation, in the Sept. for ἔλεγξις), censure, repudiation of a thing shown to be worthless: ἐλθεῖν εἰς ἀπελεγμόν to be proved to be worthless, to be disesteemed, come into contempt (R. V. disrepute), Acts 19:27. (Not used by secular authors.)

ἀπελεγμός is a ἅπ. εἰρ. of Luke (Acts 19:27), being an easy derivative from ἀπελέγχω ";repudiate,"; on the model of ἐλεγμός (LXX) from ἐλέγχω.
