as a military term ";keep in line with,"; is found in Polyb. x. 23. 7 ἐφ᾽ ὅσον συζυγοῦντας καὶ συστοιχοῦντας διαμένειν. For the metaph. usage ";correspond exactly to"; in Galatians 4:25, cf. the adj. in BGU IV. 1205.9 (B.C. 28) οὐδὲ γὰρ σύνστοιχοι (";übereinstimmend";) ἑατῶν [γ ]ίνεσθε, and in Epicurus Ep. I. 76 τὰ σύστοιχα τούτοις, ";kindred phenomena to these"; (Bailey).
