For the meaning ";follow along with,"; as in Mark 14:51, cf. the fragmentary P Petr II. 4 (2) (= p. [7]) συνακολουθείτω δέ τις παρὰ σοῦ τῆι ομ [, and P Tebt I. 39.14 (B.C. 114) συνε (= α)κολουθεῖν ἐπὶ τὴν σημαινομένην οἰκίαν, ";to go along with him to the house alluded to."; An interesting use of the verb is found in P Petr II. 13 (18 b).16 (B.C. 258–253) περὶ ] δὲ τοῦ κυρωθῆναι τὰ ἔργα γράψον Νέω [ν ]ι ? συ [να ]κολουθεῖν τοῖς ἔργοις, where the editor renders ";but as regards the audit (sanction) of the work, write to Neon? to keep his eye on the works.";
