The phrase χωρὶς προκρίματος, ";without prejudgment"; in 1 Timothy 5:21, the only occurrence of πρόκριμα in the Greek Bible, occurs ter in P Flor I. 68 (A.D. 172), e.g..13 μετέλα ]β ̣ο ̣ν [τ ]ο ̣ύτου τὸ ἴσον ὡς [κ ]αθήκει χωρὶς προκρίμμ ̣ατος μένοντός μοι τοῦ [λόγου. . .. For the corresponding verb (only Sap 7.8 in Greek Bible), cf. P Oxy III. 472.7 (c. A.D. 130) θάνατον τοῦ ζῆν προκρείναντες, ";preferring death to life,"; and Syll.3 783.20 (B.C. 27) τῆς κατ᾽ οἶκον ὠ [φε ]λίας τὸν δημόσιον κόσμον προκρείνας.
