For οἰκοδομία in its literal sense of ";building,"; cf. OGIS 843.104 (ii/B.C.) τὸ ἴσον εἰσφ [ερ ]έτωσαν εἰς τὴν οἰκοδομίαν, and Cagnat IV. 661.11 (Acmonia—A.D. 85) ὅπως μηδὲν τοῦ μνημείου τούτου ἢ τῶν περὶ [αὐ ]τὸ φυτειῶν ἢ οἰκοδομιῶν ἐλασσωθῇ κτλ. The adj. occurs in Syll 932 (= .3880).65 (A.D. 202) ἐν τοῖς οἰκοδομικοῖς καὶ ἐν τοῖς λειτουργικοῖς καὶ ἐν τοῖς χρηστικοῖς (see the editor’s note). In the NT the subst. is read only in 1 Timothy 1:4 Dc (οἰκονομίαν א AG al.), where it is used metaphorically.
