fill full of, c. gen. rei, ὀργῆς μ. τινά S. Ant. 280: — Pass., to be filled or full of, κτύπου Id. El. 713, cf. Ant. 420; of persons, παρρησίας μεστοῦσθαι καὶ ἐλευθερίας Pl. Lg. 649b; ὕβρεώς τε καὶ ἀδικίας ib. 713c: abs., Procop. Arc. 13; and in medic. sense, ἀγγεῖα μεμεστωμένα Gal. 1.394, cf. 8.932.

Mayser (Gr. p. 17) cites only one ex. of μόγις for μόλις (see s.v. μόλις) from Ptolemaic times, P Magd 11.6 (B.C. 221) (= Chrest. I. p. 520) μόγις ἕλκοντες τὸ πλοῖον ἠγάγομεν ἐπὶ τὸν ὅρμον τοῦ Ἀρσινοΐτου, ";hauling the vessel with difficulty we brought it to the harbour of Arsinoe."; For later exx. see P Oxy II. 298.19 (i/A.D.) μόγις (δραχμὰς) χ ̄ ἀπαιτήσας, P Lips I. 105.10 (i/ii A.D.) μ ̣όγις τὸν τῆς βεβρεγμένης ἀπήρτισα, P Strass I. 41.51 (A.D. 250) μό [γι ]ς ἤ [χ ]θησαν, and PSI I. 49.2 (vi/A.D.) μόγις μετὰ πολλῶν καμάτων. The adj. μογερός is well illustrated by Kaibel 151.9 f.—
