from all around, κ. ὁδὸς περίχει Lys. 7.28, cf. Hp. Fract. 33, Thphr. HP 4.6.10 (dub.l.), etc.: c. gen., LXX 3 Ki. 18.32, al., Revelation 4:3 : c. dat., LXX Ev 1 Kings 6:5 : spelt κύκλωθεν, IPE 12.175 (Olbia), and sts. in codd., but this spelling is condemned by Theognost. Can. 156, and arose from a supposed connexion with κύκλῳ.

κυκλόθεν (κύκλος (see κύκλῳ)), adverb round about, from all sides, all round: Revelation 4:8; κυκλόθεν τίνος, Revelation 4:3f, and Rec. in . (Lysias, p. 110, 40 (olea sacr. 28); Qu. Smyrn. 5, 16; Nonnus, Dionysius 36, 325; the Sept. often for מִסָּבִיב, סָבִיב סָבִיב, and simply סָבִיב; many examples from the Apocrypha are given in Wahl, Claris Apocryphorum, etc., under the word.)
