κρυφῇ or κρυφῆ (Moulton Gr. ii. p. 84) ";secretly,"; as in Ephesians 5:12, is found in a iii/B.C. ostrakon-letter published in Archiv vi. p. 220, No. 8.3 ἀπόστειλον τοῖς ὑπογεγραμμένοις τὰς πεταλίας κρυφῆι καὶ μηθεὶς αἰσθανέσθω. The form κρυβῆ (cf. 2 Kings 12:12) occurs in a declaration by an egg-seller that he will sell only in the open market—P Oxy I. 83.14 (A.D. 327) ὁμολογῶ. . . μὴ ἐξῖναί μοι εἰς τὸ ὑπιὸν κρυβῆ ἢ καὶ ἐν τῇ ἡμετέρᾳ οἰκίᾳ πωλῖν, ";I acknowledge that it shall not be lawful for me in the future to sell secretly or in my house"; (Edd.). MGr κρυφά, ";secretly,"; κρυφὰ ἀπό, ";without the knowledge of.";
