An interesting illustration of the use of this verb in Acts 2:37 is afforded by Pelagia-Legenden, p. 7.16 καὶ οὕτως κατενύγη πᾶς ὁ λαὸς ἐπὶ τοῖς λόγοις οἷς ἐλάλει τὸ πνεῦμα τὸ ἅγιον δι᾽ αὐτοῦ, ὥστε ὅλον τὸ ἔδαφος τῆς ἐκκλησίας καταρρανθῆναι ὑπὸ τῶν δακρύων τοῦ λαοῦ. MGr κατανύσσομαι, ";I am seized with compunction,"; ";I become contrite.";
