This expressive compound (Hebrews 12:29) is found in a woman’s complaint against her husband—PSI I. 41.20 (iv/A.D.) εἴθε μὴ τεθέαμαι αὐτόν, . . . κατηνάλωσεν γὰρ τὰ ἡμέτερα. Cf. also Syll 306.39 (mid. ii/B.C.) καταναλισκέσθω ὁ τόκος εἰς παιδευτάς.
