For this NT ἅπ. εἰρ. (Acts 7:19) we may compare Vett. Val. p. 106.14 ἔκθετοι ἢ αἰχμάλωτοι γενόμενοι ὑποταγῆς πεῖραν λήψονται, where ἔκθετοι is apparently = ";exiles."; The subst. ἔκθεσις is common = ";list,"; ";schedule,"; e.g. P Oxy II. 291.3 (A.D. 25–26) τ [ὴν ] ἔκθεσιν τοῦ ι ̄β ̄ (ἔτους) Τιβερίου Καί [σαρ ]ος Σεβαστοῦ σειτικὴν καὶ ἀρ [γ ]υρικὴν εὐθέως γράψον, ";write out immediately the list of arrears both of corn and money for the twelfth year of Tiberius Caesar Augustus"; (Edd.) : on the verso of P Tebt II. 410 (A.D. 16) is a short account, with the heading ἔκθεσις τιμ (ῆς) προβά (των). Syll 929.37 (ii/B.C.) περὶ ἧς καὶ τὴν καθήκουσαν ἔχθεσιν πεποιήμεθα, has the same spelling as in Wisdom of Solomon 11:14 אAC. In calling attention to the needless margin at RV here (where the ἐχθ. spelling seems to have been taken as a form of ἔχθος) Thackeray (Gr. i. p. 103) has achieved the rare feat of catching Hort and his colleagues tripping. For ἔκθεμα see s.v. ἐκτίθημι.
