I distribute, apportion, τοῖς μὲν τιμάς, τοῖς δὲ ἀτιμίας Pl. Lg. 830e, etc.; ἐπὶ τὰ αὑτῶν ἕκαστα ἐκμαγεῖα Id. Tht. 194d; δ. μέρη divide into portions, Id. Lg. 756c, cf. Ti. 35b; ἡ χώρα κατὰ δώδεκα μέρη διανενέμηται Id. Lg. 758e; δ. ἑαυτόν distribute oneself among friends, Arist. EN 1171a3; δ. ἴσον αὑτόν [ὁ Πλοῦτος ] Ar. Pl. 510; ὁ διανέμων the distributor, Arist. OGIS 383.155 (middle of i/B.C.) τοῖς δὲ λοιποῖς χάριν ἐμὴν εἰς ἐλευθέραν ἡδονὴν διανέμων, ib. 493.81 (ii/A.D.) διανέμειν τοῖς πολείταις. . . ἐκ τῶν δημοσίων τ [ῶν εἰς θυσίας κτλ., and for the subst. ib. 335.137 (ii/i B.C.). The verb is restored in CP Herm 8ii. 9 καὶ ταῦτα πάν ̣[τα ποιήσαντες διενεί ]μαντο τὸ ἀργύριον.
