Berean Study Bible
But when the judge ... died, the Israelites became even more corrupt than their fathers, going after other gods to serve them and bow down to them. They would not give up their evil practices and stubborn ways.
English Standard Version
But whenever the judge died they turned back and were more corrupt than their fathers going after other gods serving them and bowing down to them They did not drop any of their practices or their stubborn ways
Holman Christian Standard Version
Whenever the judge died, the Israelites would act even more corruptly than their fathers, going after other gods to worship and bow down to them. They did not turn from their evil practices or their obstinate ways.
King James Version
And it came to pass, when the judge was dead, that they returned (8799), and corrupted themselves more than their fathers, in following other gods to serve them, and to bow down unto them; they ceased not from their own doings, nor from their stubborn way.
