Berean Study Bible
- Do you not fear Me?" declares the LORD. " Do you not tremble before Me, the One who set the sand as the boundary for the sea, an enduring barrier it cannot cross? The waves surge, but they cannot prevail. They roar but cannot cross it.
English Standard Version
Do you not fear me declares the Lord Do you not tremble before me I placed the sand as the boundary for the sea a perpetual barrier that it cannot pass though the waves toss they cannot prevail though they roar they cannot pass over it
Holman Christian Standard Version
Do you not fear Me? This is the Lord's declaration. Do you not tremble before Me, the One who set the sand as the boundary of the sea an enduring barrier that it cannot cross? The waves surge, but they cannot prevail. They roar but cannot pass over it.
King James Version
Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail (8799); though they roar (8804), yet can they not pass over it?
Lexham English Bible
Do you not revere me?" declares⌋⌊before me⌋the sand as a boundary for the sea, as an everlasting limit
New American Standard Version
'Do you not fear Me?' declares the Lord. 'Do you not tremble in My presence? For I have placed the sand as a boundary for the sea, An eternal decree, so it cannot cross over it. Though the waves toss, yet they cannot prevail; Though they roar, yet they cannot cross over it.
World English Bible
Don't you fear me?' says Yahweh ‘Won't you tremble at my presence, who have placed the sand for the bound of the sea, by a perpetual decree, that it can't pass it? and though its waves toss themselves, yet they can't prevail; though they roar, yet they can't pass over it.'
