So David went to Baal-perazim, where he defeated the Philistines ... ... and said, "Like a bursting flood, the LORD - has burst out against my enemies before me." So ... he called ... that place Baal-perazim.
English Standard Version
And David came to Baal-perazim and David defeated them there And he said The Lord has broken through my enemies before me like a breaking flood Therefore the name of that place is called Baal-perazim
Holman Christian Standard Version
So David went to Baal-perazim and defeated them there and said, "Like a bursting flood, the Lord has burst out against my enemies before me." Therefore, he named that place the Lord Bursts Out.
King James Version
And David came to Baalperazim, and David smote them there, and said (8799), The LORD hath broken forth upon mine enemies before me, as the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baalperazim.
