After seeking advice, the king made two golden calves and said to the people, "Going to Jerusalem is too much for you. Here, O Israel, are your gods, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt."
English Standard Version
So the king took counsel and made two calves of gold And he said to the people You have gone up to Jerusalem long enough Behold your gods O Israel who brought you up out of the land of Egypt

So the king sought advice. Then he made two golden calves, and he said to the people, "Going to Jerusalem is too difficult for you. Israel, here is your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt."

Whereupon the king took counsel (8735), and made two calves of gold, and said unto them, It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem: behold thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
