Berean Study Bible
And Jabez called out to the God of Israel ..., "If only You would bless me ... and enlarge - my territory! May Your hand be with me and keep me from harm, so that I will be free from pain." And God - granted the request of Jabez.
English Standard Version
Jabez called upon the God of Israel saying Oh that you would bless me and enlarge my border and that your hand might be with me and that you would keep me from harm so that it might not bring me pain And God granted what he asked
Holman Christian Standard Version
Jabez called out to the God of Israel: "If only You would bless me, extend my border, let Your hand be with me, and keep me from harm, so that I will not cause any pain." And God granted his request.
King James Version
And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying (8800), Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed (8763), and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested (8804).
