So David and his men went up to Baal-perazim, where he defeated the Philistines and said, "Like a bursting flood, God - has burst out against my enemies by my hand." So ... they called ... that place Baal-perazim.
English Standard Version
And he went up to Baal-perazim and David struck them down there And David said God has broken through my enemies by my hand like a bursting flood Therefore the name of that place is called Baal-perazim
Holman Christian Standard Version
So the Israelites went up to Baal-perazim, and David defeated the Philistines there. Then David said, "Like a bursting flood, God has used me to burst out against my enemies." Therefore, they named that place the Lord Bursts Out.
King James Version
So they came up to Baalperazim; and David smote them there. Then David said (8799), God hath broken in upon mine enemies by mine hand like the breaking forth of waters: therefore they called the name of that place Baalperazim.
Lexham English Bible
And he went up to Baal- Perazim, and David struck them there. And David said, "God has burst out against my enemies by my hand like waters burst out." Therefore they will call the name of this place Baal-Perazim.
New American Standard Version
So they came up to Baal-perazim, and David defeated them there; and David said, "God has broken through my enemies by my hand, like the breakthrough of waters." Therefore they named that place Baal-perazim.
