Galician Hebraist; born at Brody in 1844. In 1865 he became coeditor with Werber on the Hebrew paper "'Ibri Anoki," in which he published a series of articles on the position of the Jews in Russia before Alexander II. In 1880 he produced a didactic poem entitled "Hitpatteḥut Tebel," on the evolution of religion and philosophy. Levin had previously translated into Hebrew Schiller's "Die Braut von Messina" under the title "Medanim Ben Aḥim" (Brody, 1868).
