A station of the Israelites in the desert (Numbers 11:35, 12:16, 33:17; Deuteronomy 1:1). It was at Hazeroth that Miriam, having slandered her brother Moses, was stricken with leprosy (Numbers 12:1-11). The geographical position of Hazeroth is indicated in Deuteronomy 1:1—in the Arabah opposite the Red Sea. It is identified with the modern 'Ain al-Khaḍra, on the route from Mt. Sinai to 'Aḳaba.
