District mentioned in 1 Chronicles 5:26 as one of those to which Tiglath-pileser brought the Reubenites, Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh. Like the other places with which it is associated, Hara must have been situated in western Assyria. In the Septuagint the place is not mentioned, nor does it occur in the parallel passage, 2 Kings 18:11, whichhas the addition "and in the cities of the Medes." Though omitted by the Septuagint in 1 Chronicles 5:26, there can be no doubt that "Hara" appeared in the original Hebrew, for Jerome transliterates it by "Ara."
