Daughter of Caleb (1 Chronicles 2:49), who was promised by her father to the man who should capture Kirjath-sepher. Othniel, the son of Kenaz and nephew of Caleb, took it and married Achsah (Joshua 15:16,17). In Judges, 1:12,13, the story is repeated, but here Achsah asks springs of water in addition to the "south land," and both the upper and the lower springs are granted her.
