od - ṓ - mē´ra ( Ὀδομηρά , Odomērá ; Codex Vaticanus Ὀδοααρρής , Odoaarrḗs , Itala Odaren ; the King James Version Odonarkes , margin Odomarra ): It is not certain whether Odomera was an independent Bedouin chief, perhaps an ally of the Syrians, or an officer of Bacchides. He was defeated by Jonathan in his campaign against Bacchides ( 1 Maccabees 9:66 ) in 156 BC.
