lod - ē´us ( Λοδδεύς , Loddeús ; Swete reads Laadaı́os with Doldaı́os as variant in Codex Alexandrinus; the King James Version Daddeus , Saddeus ): The captain, who was in the place of the treasury. Ezra sent to him for men who "might execute the priests' office" (1 Esdras 8:46); called "Iddo" in Ezra 8:17 .
