Jesuit exegete, born Rome, Italy, 1797; died there, 1881. Except for a period during the Revolution of 1848, he was professor of Sacred Scripture and Hebrew at the Romani College until 1870. His most important works are interpretations of the Scriptures and Gospel commentaries in Latin, intended to refute the rationalistic errors of that time.
