(1756-1837) Catholic wife of George IV of England; died Brighton, England. The daughter of Walter Smythe of Brambridge, Hampshire, and the widow of Edward Weld, and of Thomas Fitzherbert, she married George, Prince of Wales, 1785. She separated from him during his union with Caroline of Brunswick, and then after a nine years' reconciliation, left him permanently.
