Virgin, foundress of the Servite Tertiaries, born Florence, Italy, 1270; died there, 1341. She was a niece of Saint Alexis Falconieri; through his influence she consecrated herself from early youth to the religious life. In 1285 she received from Saint Philip Benizi, General of the Servites, the habit of the Third Order of the Servites. In 1305, with several companions, she founded the first convent of the Sisters of the Third Order of Servites, where she remained superior until her death; the purpose of the congregation was the care of the sick.
