SHEMIDA . A ‘son’ of Gilead, according to Numbers 26:32 [P [Note: Priestly Narrative.] ]; called in Joshua 17:2 [JE [Note: Jewish Encyclopedia.] ] a ‘son’ of Manasseh; his descendants are enumerated in 1 Chronicles 7:19 . The gentilic name Shemidaites occurs in Numbers 26:32 .
