Jehoiarib
JEHOIARIB ( 1 Chronicles 9:10; 1 Chronicles 24:7 , elsewhere Joiarib; called in 1M Malachi 2:1 Joarib ). The name of one of the twenty-four courses of priests; first in David’s time ( 1 Chronicles 24:7 ), but seventeenth in the time of Zerub. ( Nehemiah 12:6 ) and of the high priest Joiakim ( Nehemiah 12:19 ). The name is omitted, probably by accident, in the list of the priests that ‘sealed to the covenant’ ( Nehemiah 10:1-39 ). The clan is mentioned among those that dwelt in Jerusalem in the time of Nehemiah ( Nehemiah 11:10 ).
