GERA . One of Benjamin’s sons ( Genesis 46:21 , omitted in Numbers 26:38-40 ). Acc. to 1 Chronicles 8:3; 1 Chronicles 8:8; 1 Chronicles 8:7 he was a son of Bela and a grandson of Benjamin. Gera was evidently a well-known Benjamite clan, to which belonged Ehud ( Judges 3:15 ) and Shimel ( 2 Samuel 16:5; 2Sa 19:16; 2 Samuel 19:18 , 1 Kings 2:3 ).
