A part of a palace or a separate home of the rich that is heated and thus warmer than the rest of the house (Jeremiah 36:22 ), or built in a warmer part of the country. Amos spoke of the destruction of the winterhouse because of Israel's sin against God (Jeremiah 3:15 ).
