(ssheh reh bi' uh) Personal name of uncertain meaning: “Yah gave a new generation,” “Yah understands,” or “Yah made it hot.” Ancestor of a family of Levites (Ezra 8:18 ,Ezra 8:18,8:24; Nehemiah 8:7; Nehemiah 9:4-5; Nehemiah 10:12; Nehemiah 12:8 ,Nehemiah 12:8,12:24 ). He had responsibility for the Temple gold Ezra took back to Jerusalem from Exile and helped Ezra teach the people the law.
