(fih jehl' uss) Personal name meaning, “fugitive.” Christian who deserted Paul (2 Timothy 1:15 ). The contrast with Onesiphorus, who was not ashamed of the imprisoned Paul (2 Timothy 1:16-17 ), suggests that Phygelus abandoned Paul in prison.
