(jehr' ih mahth) Personal name meaning, “swellings.” 1. Member of tribe of Benjamin (1 Chronicles 8:14 ), perhaps to be identified with Jeroham (1 Chronicles 8:27 ). 2 . Two Israelites with foreign wives condemned by Ezra (Ezra 10:26-27 ). 3 . Name written in Hebrew text of Israelite with foreign wife under Ezra (Ezra 10:29 ). Early Hebrew scribes and earliest translators read “and Ramoth.” 4. Descendant of Benjamin and leader in that tribe (1 Chronicles 7:8 ). 5 . Priest in days of David and Solomon (1 Chronicles 23:23; spelled Jerimoth in 1 Chronicles 24:30 ). 6 . Temple musician (1 Chronicles 25:4 , Jerimoth), possibly the same person as head of fifteenth division of priests (1 Chronicles 25:22 ). See Jerimoh.
