In Isaiah 1:4 , a designation for Yahweh. The title stresses God's nature as holy and His unique relationship to Israel. In the Old Testament, this designation is used especially in the Book of Isaiah. In the New Testament Jesus is referred to as the Holy One. See God; Holy .
