Hill east of Jerusalem near the Mount of Olives where Solomon built altars to the gods of his foreign wives (1 Kings 11:7 ). These places of worship were destroyed by Josiah (2 Kings 23:13 ). The name is probably a word play by the biblical writer on Mount of Oil, an early name of the Mount of Olives and a word spelled much like Mount of Corruption or Destruction.
