2. "Ira the Ithrite," i.e. of Jattir, a town in the mountainous region of Judah, which David haunted in the time of Saul's persecution, and to which he sent presents for his friends from the Amalekite spoil (1 Samuel 30:27). One of David's guard (2 Samuel 23:38).
