Jesus gives the Beatitudes

Matthew 5:1-12	Luke 6:17-26
Matthew 5:1 And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:	Luke 6:17 And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judaea and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;
	Luke 6:18 And they that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed.
	Luke 6:19 And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed [them] all.
Matthew 5:2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,	Luke 6:20 And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said,
Matthew 5:3 Blessed [are] the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.	Blessed [be ye] poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.
Matthew 5:4 Blessed [are] they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Matthew 5:5 Blessed [are] the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Matthew 5:6 Blessed [are] they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.	Luke 6:21 Blessed [are ye] that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed [are ye] that weep now: for ye shall laugh.
Matthew 5:7 Blessed [are] the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Matthew 5:8 Blessed [are] the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Matthew 5:9 Blessed [are] the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Matthew 5:10 Blessed [are] they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:11 Blessed are ye, when [men] shall revile you, and persecute [you], and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.	Luke 6:22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you [from their company], and shall reproach [you], and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake.
Matthew 5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great [is] your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.	Luke 6:23 Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward [is] great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets. Luke 6:24 But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation. Luke 6:25 Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep. Luke 6:26 Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.

Mark 9:49 For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.

Matthew 5:13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted?	Mark 9:50 Salt [is] good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it?	Luke 14:34 Salt [is] good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned?
it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.	Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.	Luke 14:35 It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; [but] men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Matthew 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Matthew 5:15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.	Mark 4:21 And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick?	Luke 8:16 No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth [it] under a bed; but setteth [it] on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.	Luke 11:33 No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth [it] in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light.

Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 10:26 Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.	Mark 4:22 For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad. Luke 11:34 The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when [thine eye] is evil, thy body also [is] full of darkness.

	Mark 4:24 And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that have shall more be given.	Luke 8:18 Take heed therefore how ye hear:	Luke 11:35 Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness.
Matthew 13:12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.	Mark 4:25 For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.	for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.	Matthew 25:29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.

Luke 11:36 If thy whole body therefore [be] full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light.

Jesus teaches about loving enemies

Matthew 5:43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.	Matthew 5:38 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;	Luke 6:27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, Luke 6:28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
Matthew 5:45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
Matthew 5:39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.	Luke 6:29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the [one] cheek offer also the other;
Matthew 5:40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have [thy] cloke also.	and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not [to take thy] coat also.
	Luke 6:30 Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask [them] not again.
	Luke 6:31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
Matthew 5:46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?	Luke 6:32 For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.
Matthew 5:47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more [than others]? do not even the publicans so?	Luke 6:33 And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
	Luke 6:34 And if ye lend [to them] of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again. Luke 6:35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and [to] the evil.
Matthew 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.	Luke 6:36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
