Ezekiel 30

Everett's Study Notes on the Holy ScripturesEverett's Study Notes

Verses 1-26

Ezekiel 29:5 And I will leave thee thrown into the wilderness, thee and all the fish of thy rivers: thou shalt fall upon the open fields; thou shalt not be brought together, nor gathered: I have given thee for meat to the beasts of the field and to the fowls of the heaven.

Ezekiel 29:5 “I have given thee for meat to the beasts of the field and to the fowls of the heaven” Comments - Remember how Goliath told David that he would feed his flesh to the fowls of the air and to the beasts of the field (1 Samuel 17:44)? This was one of the most dishonorable way to die in this Oriental culture.

1 Samuel 17:44, “And the Philistine said to David, Come to me, and I will give thy flesh unto the fowls of the air, and to the beasts of the field.”
