2 Kings 17:1-41 The Reign of Hoshea Over Israel & Its Captivity (732-722 B.C.) 2 Kings 17:1-41 records the account of the reign of Hoshea over Israel and of Israel’s destruction and captivity by Assyria.
2 Kings 17:1-6 Comments - The Siege of Samaria - F. F. Bruce tells us that the siege of Samaria was begun while Shalmaneser V was ruler over Assyria, and by the time the city was taken, Sargon II has superseded him. [66]
