Job 1

Verse 1

1:1 Uz (a-9) See Lamentations 4:21 . perfect (b-18) Complete, lacking nothing; cf. 2 Samuel 22:24 .

Verse 3

1:3 sheep, (c-7) 'Small cattle,' applying equally to both sheep and goats'

Verse 5

1:5 cursed (d-51) So ver. 11, and ch. 2.5,9. see 1 Kings 21:10 ,1 Kings 21:13 .

Verse 6

1:6 a (e-4) Lit. 'the;' so ver. 13, &c.. see 2 Kings 4:18 . Satan (f-18) Meaning 'Adversary.' Lit. 'the Satan,' and so to ch. 2.7.

Verse 16

1:16 sheep (c-22) 'Small cattle,' applying equally to both sheep and goats'

Verse 22

1:22 God. (a-12) Or 'nor uttered anything unseemly against God.'
