The word means also 'a mirror,' but it is used for window, made, not of clear transparent glass, as now, but of semi-transparent materials. In this verse, 'know' (partially) is ginosko , the words used for 'know' and 'known' in the last clause of the verse are from epiginosko , which is stronger, as in Matthew 11:27 .
