6 And when they were come, hee looked on Eliab, and saide, Surely the Lordes Anointed is before him. 6 It happened, when they had come, that he looked at Eli'av, and said, Surely the LORD's anointed is before him. 6 When Jesse and his sons arrived, Samuel saw Eliab and thought, "Surely this is the man who the Lord has chosen." 6 When they came, he looked on Eliab and thought, "Surely the Lord 's anointed is before him." 6So it happened, when they had come, he looked at Eliab [the eldest son] and thought, "Surely the LORD'S anointed is before Him." 6 And it came to pass, when they were come, that he looked on Eliab, and said, Surely Jehovah's anointed is before him. 6 Now when they came, looking at Eliab, he said, Clearly the man of the Lord's selection is before him. 6 When Jesse and his sons arrived, Samuel noticed Jesse's oldest son, Eliab. "He has to be the one the Lord has chosen," Samuel said to himself. 6 When they had come, he looked at Eli'av and said, "This has to be Adonai 's anointed one, here before him." 6 And it came to pass, when they were come, that he beheld Eliab, and said: 'Surely the LORD'S anointed is before Him.'

Then Jesse called Abinadab,.... His second son, 1 Samuel 17:13
and made him pass before Samuel: that he might take a full view of him:
and he said, neither hath the Lord chosen this; which he knew by a private suggestion from him.
