⁷ Then came the day of sweete breade, when [of necessitie] the Passouer must be offered. ⁸ And he sent Peter and Iohn, saying: Go and prepare vs the Passouer, that we may eate. ⁹ They sayde vnto hym: Where wylt thou that we prepare? ¹⁰ And he sayde vnto them: Beholde, when ye enter into the citie, there shall a man meete you, bearyng a pitcher of water, hym folowe into the same house that he entreth in. ¹¹ And ye shall say vnto the good man of the house, the maister saith vnto thee, where is the ghest chamber, where I shall eate ye Passouer with my disciples? ¹² And he shal shew you an vpper chamber prepared, there make redye. ¹³ And they went, and founde as he had sayde vnto them: and they made redye the Passouer. ¹⁴ And when the houre was come, he sate downe, & the twelue apostles with hym. ¹⁵ And he sayde vnto them: I haue earnestly desired to eate this Passouer with you, before that I suffer. ¹⁶ For I saye vnto you, hencefoorth I wyll not eate of it any more, vntyll it be fulfylled in the kyngdome of God.

And they said unto him, where wilt thou that we prepare?] Meaning, not in what village, town, or city, for it was a fixed and determined thing, that the passover should be eaten at Jerusalem, and nowhere else; see Deuteronomy 16:2, but in what house in Jerusalem?
