Kayu-kayu pengusung itu demikian panjangnya, sehingga ujungnya kelihatan dari tempat kudus, yang di depan ruang belakang itu, tetapi tidak kelihatan dari luar; dan di situlah tempatnya sampai hari ini.
Maka dijengulkannya kayu pengusung itu, sehingga kelihatanlah hulu kayu pengusung itu dari dalam tabut di hadapan tempat firman, tetapi tiada ia itu kelihatan di luar; maka adalah ia itu di sana datang kepada hari ini.

unto this day: That is, the day when these events were recorded; not the day when these extracts were made, after the captivity, and consequently, long after the destruction of the temple.

From the ark - Or, according to a different reading here and according to 1 Kings 8:8, some read, “the ends of the staves were seen from the Holy place.”
There it is unto this day - This should be corrected as in the margin.

Verse 2 Chronicles 5:9. They drew out the staves — As the ark was no longer to be carried about, these were unnecessary.
