Simplified Cowboy Version

Romans 16

1 I am recommending to y'all a cowgirl named Phoebe. She is instrumental in the church in Cenchreae. 2 Treat her like you would me. Help with whatever she may need. She's done the same for me many times over.

3 Say hello to Priscilla and Aquila for me. I consider both of them my pards in riding for the Lord. 4 They've put their necks on the line for me more than once. Every church filled with outsiders knows of them and how thankful I am for them both. 5 Say hello to all who meet at their house to learn about the Lord.

Give a shout out to my friend Epenetus. He was the first Outsider I gathered in the province of Asia. 6 Give a hug for me to Mary who has done so much for all of us. 7 Also do the same for Andronicus and Junia. They are Jews who spent time in jail with me. They came to Christ before I did and are much respected with the Apostles. 8 I don't want to forget Ampliatus. He is a true friend in Christ. 9 Tell Urbanus, a hand for the brand, I said hello, also, to my friend Stachys.

10 Greet Apelles, a good hand who Jesus is proud of. Give my greetings to all the cowboys and cowgirls staying with Aristobulus. 11 Say hello for me to Herodion, a Jew as well. The same goes for all those with Narcissus. 12 A special hello goes out Tryphena and Tryphosa, who ride hard for the Lord, and to Persis, who is the first to step up and the last to quit. 13 Say hello to Rufus. Jesus picked him personally, as well as his momma, who has been like a second mom to me.

14 Hello to Asyncritus, Phelgon, Hermes, Patrobas, Hermas, and all who meet at their place. 15 Hello to Philologus, Julia, Nereus and his hermana, as well as Olympas and all they watch out for. 16 Give them all a hug and a hand shake. All the outfits I've started send their best.

A Final Order

17 Let me say one last thing. Watch out for the herd splitters. They'll try to teach things other than what I've taught you. Stay clear of them. 18 These cowboys ain't riding for the Lord. They do these things for personal interest and gain. They talk good, but their message is rotten . . . and people fall for it. 19 Everyone knows y'all know the truth and ride for the Lord with all your heart. This makes me so proud. I want you to be wise in doing good things and innocent of wrong things. 20 Satan will be crushed by God soon. Let the grace of God guide you.

21 Timothy, my saddle pard, sends his hellos along with Lucius, Jason, and Sosipater—my fellow Jews.

22 I, Tertius, am writing this for Paul. I send my greetings as well.

23 Gaius said to tell y'all hi. I'm staying with him and our outfit meets at his place. Erastus, the city's bean-counter, along with Quartus, send their regards.

25 Finally, all glory to God, who builds us up strong, just like the good news says. This message about Jesus has shown you God's plan for all the outsiders. This plan has been kept secret since the beginning, but now it is revealed. 26 All the prophets hinted about it, but now the message has been made known to all outsiders. May they believe and follow Jesus completely as they ride for God. 27 Once again, all glory goes to God, through Christ Jesus, forever and ever. Amen.
