Simplified Cowboy Version

Revelation 19

1 After this I heard a loud celebration in heaven. Everyone was shouting, "Praise God! Salvation, glory, and power are God's and God's alone. 2 His rule is right and just. He has condemned the whore who condemned the earth with her immorality and wickedness. God has defeated her because she killed his cowboys."

3 Then again they shouted, "Praise God! The smoke from the fires of her destruction rise forever and ever!"

4 Then the twenty-four old bosses and four living creatures took a knee before God and worshiped him who was on the throne. They repeated over and over, "Amen! Praise God!"

The Wedding Fiesta and the Lamb

5 Then a voice from the throne came saying, "Praise God, all his cowboys and all his hands, both big and small, who honor him."

6 Then the sound of a crowd like a rushing waterfall or peals of thunder came. I heard them say, "Praise God! Almighty God who is our Lord! God is King! 7 Be happy all of you and praise God's greatness! The time of the wedding for the Lamb has come. His bride has prepared herself for this time. 8 She's been given white to wear for her purity." (This stands for the good deeds of God's cowboys.)

9 Then the angel told me, "Jot this down: 'Happy are those who take part in the wedding fiesta of the Lamb.' These are the true words of God himself."

10 I fell on my face to worship him, but he jerked me back up and said, "No way, cowboy. I'm a servant like you and all the other cowboys who believed Jesus was the Truth. Worship God only."

For the truth Jesus proclaimed is what the prophets talked about.

11 Then the gates of heaven opened onto the narrow trail and there was a cowboy, called Faithful and True, riding on a white horse. He is justice and fights with truth. 12 His eyes were like fire and he wore many crowns. His name was written on himself, but only he knows what it means. 13 The clothes he wore were covered in blood. His name is the Word of God. 14 The armies of heaven rode on white horses in a jig line behind him. They were all dressed in white pearl snap shirts. 15 Out of his mouth came a sword with which he will mow down his enemies. He will rule them with an iron rod and smash his enemies like grapes in the winepress of God's fury. 16 On his shirt and on his thigh was written "King of kings and Lord of lords."

17 Then I saw an angel standing on top of the sun. He called out to the all the birds of the air and said, "Come, for a great feast awaits you! 18 Eat the flesh of those who thought they were powerful—kings, generals, soldiers, prideful cowboys and their mounts, the bodies of all unbelievers, slave and free, great and small alike."

19 Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth marshal their armies against the cowboy on the white horse and his army. 20 The beast was taken prisoner along with the false prophet who had performed miracles in his presence. (It was those miracles that mesmerized those who had the brand of the beast and those who worshiped it.) The beast and the false prophet were hurled into the lake of fire that burns with the yellow glow of sulfur. 21 Their armies were mowed down by the sword that came from the mouth of the one riding the horse. All the birds cried out in delight at the feast of flesh they were allowed to partake of.
